Our Physio’s Diane and Mckenzie are prenatal/ postpartum specialists and are here to work collaboratively with you to give you a positive prenatal and postpartum experience. This can but does not have to include in-clinic pilates, which is a great way to support your changing body and connect with your core.
Our network of allied health and medical professionals gives you peace of mind and allows us to seamlessly support you.
Our pelvic floor services offer birth prep education, treating pelvic pain, postpartum recovery, prolapse, diastasis recti and incontinence support.
We also help with SIJ dysfunction, osteitis pubis, back and neck pain, mothers thumb and wrist pain, foot pain and any of your other pregnancy and postpartum related aches and pains.
We encourage all c-section and vaginal birth patients to book an appointment in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy as well as postpartum.
Pelvic floor physio can also support your fertility when trying to conceive.
Clinical Pilates
Pilates Physio is a 1:1 session utilizing either the reformer or mat pilates, and can include some time spent on manual therapy, electro modalities or IMS (dry needling)
Pilates can help manage the physical demands of workplaces especially for nurses, pharmacists, mail carriers, teachers, desk professionals and other jobs that require heavy moving or sustained positions.
This can be a great tool post surgery in the return to sport journey, as well as in treating lower back and chronic pain conditions, as well as an injury prevention tool for athletes especially unidirectional and one side dominant sports such as tennis, badminton, field hockey, running, cycling and golf.
Pilates can help those with Hypermobility spectrum disorders find strength and stability in the midrange of joints and build posture and core stamina and stability thus mitigating pain and preventing hyperextension related injuries.
Everyone is Welcome
We see BOTH male and female pelvic health patients. We treat pelvic floor patients ages 16 and up, younger patients are recommended to see a pediatric pelvic health professional.
Many athletes experience pudental nerve irritation, SIJ pain, osteitis pubis, and incontinence. Pelvic floor disorders often disguise themselves as hip and lower back pain, so if you are experiencing discomfort in these areas that is not responding to standard treatment trying pelvic physio might help! We also see patients for sexual dysfunction and pelvic pain disorders such as vaginismus and endometriosis.
Pelvic health appointments can but do not have to include internal examinations and treatment, we work with you based on your needs and comfort level.
